Rainy Week in Wheeling

It's Labor Day and the rain is still coming down. Not heavy, just drizzling. And, according to the weather reports, it's supposed to rain every day this week. NO PROBLEM. Let's look at some of the things that are there to do despite the weather report.

Denny Magruder can still use volunteer help on finishing the clean-up of the Capitol Theatre this week. Just stop by the theatre around 9:00 am any week day if you can help.

Tuesday at Noon, Lunch with Books at the Ohio County Library will have Michael Nogay speaking about all the Forts built in the upper Ohio Valley when we were still under British control. His new book is "Every Home a Fort, Every Man a Warrior: Stories of the Forts & Men in the Upper Ohio Valley During the Revolutionary War." This is free and includes free refreshments.

Tuesday night at the Vineyard Cafe at 7:00 pm, there will be 3 featured Female singers - Kathy Lesnock at 7:00; Karen Lancaster at 7:45; and Cherylynn Hawk at 8:30. Sounds like an entertaining evening.

Also Tuesday is Nate Smith with live acoustic music from 7-11 pm at River City Ale Works, 14th & Main St., Wheeling.

On Wednesday from 6-9 pm, Yodeling Dick Brooks will be performing at Tiki's Bar & Grill, 12th & Market St, Wheeling.

On Thursday from 9 pm to midnight, Adam Bieniek will be performing at Tiki's Bar & Grill on College Nite.

Saturday night at 8 pm, Oglebay Institute's Fine Arts Center will host the Joe Negri Trio for a night of Jazz. After watching Joe Negri perform with the Symphony last night, I think this will be an event I don't want to miss.
